Long time no see!
Life has been rockin for Pearl and I. We have been living and working in Lancaster Pa since the August after graduation. We are both on staff at a local church, which by the way is doing some freakin sweet stuff. Our roles have changed over the past 2.5 years, but now we are both on the young adult team. Pearl oversees the young adult small groups and guest services, she’s blown me away at how good she is at this, I’ve been rather jealous of her at times. I’m currently the program coordinator for the young adults. I help drive the creative and production needs of our young adult environments. I never dreamed I would be doing this but it’s seems to be working for the time. I also have been able to teach from time to time in our young adult gathering called Saturate.

Pearl and I recently signed our next 40 years away with the purchase of a home. We moved into downtown Lancaster. We have a row home form 1905; we love the house, our neighbors and town. We really wanted to live around a mixed community; a community that is diverse both ethnically but also spiritually. Besides a broken car window, the city life is amazing.

Our family has grown over the last few months. No, not children but dogs, yes-plural “dogS”. About 7 months ago a 7 year old Newfoundland kind of fell into our laps, he is a huge ball of fur and laziness, but we love him like crazy. His name is Captain Lewis, after Lewis and Clark cause they had a Newfoundland, but his name was Seaman and we didn’t think that would be the best name to be yelling as we walked down the street. And finally Zuri, which is Swahili for Beautiful, came to our home about a month ago. She is a Black and Ton Coonhound Lab mix, she’s so adorable and we love her to death, even if she’s a huge handful.

So that’s life in a nutshell,
I’m loving work, life, God, my wife, and most of the stuff in between.

Blessings
Matt
